After the completion of a new production line the engineers of evopro were entrusted with another sizeable project.
After the production line for the latest Mercedes C class sedan was completed in Bremen with the cooperation of evopro, the company has received another assignment. The currently offered 3 models of the C class will be phased out by the owner, Daimler, and they would like to start manufacturing four types of a new cross-over model. As the partner of EBZ – the company responsible for the mechanical conversion of the production line – evopro's task will be to phase out the electrical and software components of the production line that is currently producing 3 types of chassis (sedan, station wagon, coupe) and integrate the types of the new model one-by-one into the line, all while keeping the current production uninterrupted and with the conversion job restricted to production stoppage times from Friday afternoons to Monday mornings, completing the task in 4 years. During this so-called “reuse” project the engineers of evopro will redesign the electrical, control technology, and safety systems, they will develop, install and optimize the control technology software, including the integration of over 400 industrial robots, and they will also complete the required electrical installations and conversions together with other partners.
