The Faculty of Information Technology of the Péter Pázmány Catholic University and the Electrical Engineering Students' Hungarian Association organized the first ever BeeSmarter 24 Hour Mobile Programming Team Competition on March 2 which was supported by the evopro group, too. The goal of the competition was to provide a themed presentation about what current problems can and should be solved by the simple devices found in everybody's pockets.

Three tasks of various difficulty awaited the teams that consisted of 2-3 people, mostly university students: they had to develop a virtual ticket purchasing system, then a dodgeball game, and finally a music player program that adapts to the human heartbeat, which also tested the contestants' skills in bioinformatics.

The organizers of the competition had more than just the university students in mind: there was also a program called “code camp” during the BeeSmarter competition which was organized specifically for high school seniors to arouse their interest in the computer engineering profession.
