Gáspár Csere, a long-distance runner at the BEAC athletic club, has been running competitively since his childhood. Currently, his main event is the marathon, in which he finished 109th out of a field of 155 at the Rio Olympics.

Recovering from a foot injury he has achieved commendable results in this season already. In a strong field of competitors he finished third at the 10km Jerusalem Marathon. Although the last 2 kilometers were very strenuous, he managed to keep his podium finish. In early April he finished 15th from a field of 34,000 runners at the Berlin Half-Marathon, and on April 9th he came in 3rd at the Telekom Vivicittá Half-Marathon.
